Illuminating Faith: Art & Culture from the Middle East

A rare opportunity to see items drawn from Birmingham University and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery’s Middle Eastern collections, which represent the Islamic, Christian and Jewish faiths.

Collection

The Mingana collection of ancient manuscripts and Birmingham’s collection of textiles, dress and ceramics are displayed, originating from Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Egypt and the Arabian peninsula, and spanning the 9th to 19th centuries. An ambitious events programme expanding the themes of the exhibition is being staged across several venues in Birmingham between December 2004 and August 2005.
